You can now apply for selected investment accounts quickly and efficiently online. To start the process simply select from the list below the account that you wish to apply for. Please be aware that some of our investment accounts may require you to provide us with the following information so you may find it useful to have the details to hand. Don't worry if you don't have the information to hand as you can always complete the information on the application form we return to you.

Applying Online If you would like to open an investment account with us, simply follow the steps outlined below:- Step 1 - Select your account. Step 2 - Agree Account Terms and Conditions Carefully read and ensure you understand the account Terms and Conditions and click on I Agree to proceed. We strongly recommend that you print a copy of the terms and conditions for your records and keep them in a safe place. Step 3 - Complete the Online Application Form What happens after I submit my application? We will, as soon as practicable, send you a printed form containing all the information you provided. We will also tell you which documents we require from you to prove your identification and residency, if applicable. You should check that the application form is correct, make any necessary amendments and then sign it. Return the completed signed application form and relevant documentation we request in the pre-paid envelope along with your own personal cheque made payable to Newcastle Building Society, re your name, account number XXXXXXX (if known) for the amount of your deposit. In addition please remember to draw a line through any unused space on the cheque. If you intend to transfer money from an existing Newcastle Building Society account you should include your passbook (where applicable). Once we receive back your signed application form and all requested documentation we will open your chosen account and write to you again confirming your account details. Please note transfers from an existing Newcastle Building Society account will be subject to the terms and conditions of the account from which you intend transferring the funds. Important Information Charitable Foundation The Newcastle Building Society wants to avoid disruption to it's business caused by speculators. As a result all new customers opening share accounts are required to assign any windfall benefits to which they may become entitled on a future take-over or conversion of the Society. The assignment will be in favour of the Community Foundation, one of the leading community foundations in the U.K. The agreement will be for a period of 5 years. If you cancel, the Society will send a cheque to you to cover your original investment, plus any interest earned during this period. The Newcastle Building Society is a participant of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme established under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000. Payments under the Scheme are limited to a maximum payment of £31,700, i.e. 100% of the first £2,000 of an investors total shares and/or deposits in a society, and 90% of the next £33,000. Most investors are covered, including individuals and small firms. A small number of categories of shares and deposits are not covered (for example deferred shares - permanent interest bearing shares).
