Security Warning: don't get caught out by malicious fake e-mails or telephone calls
A number of fraudulent e-mails and telephone calls, purporting to be from financial institutions, have been made to internet banking customers, in an attempt to trick them into logging on to a fake web site, and revealing security information. For example they may ask you to provide User ID, Password or Memorable details for online accounts or to transfer money to a fake account. We will never call to request online banking security details, ask you to transfer money to an unknown account or send e-mail requests asking customers to divulge their personal security details. The purpose of this message is to make you aware of such scams, and to advise you to contact us immediately on 0345 734 4345 (Monday to Friday 8am - 6pm) if you receive an e-mail or a suspicious telephone call claiming to be from Newcastle Building Society.
